Hacettepe University has included strategic planning activities in the context of Public Financial Administration and Control Act No.5018 and Higher Planning Board decision no. 2003/14 into its quality management program that has been carried out in its hospitals since 2000. Since then, considerable results have been achieved. Academic and administrative units have preapred their own strategic plans for constituting a basis for the strategic plan of the university. These plans have been followed up annualy.
Hacettepe
University has initiated a program to construct an institutional
framework for all quality development activities including strategic
planning process. In this respect, Hacettepe University establish
new units for quality development activities. Within this
context, Hacettepe University established "Hacettepe University
Academic Evaluation and Quality Enhancement Board" (HUADEKK) with
the University Senate decision (No. 2006-163 and dated July
12.7.2006) as a requisite of "the Direction of Academic Evaluation
and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education Institutions"
declared by Council of Higher Education. Hacettepe University
consider it as an opportunity for institutionalization of quality
projects.
In this respect, another important unit which is established by the University Senate decision (No. 2006-164 and dated July 12.7.2006) is Quality Office (HUKK). Being secreteriat for HUADEKK, sustaining and coordinating quality enhancement projects in education, research and other activities are among the responsibilities of this office. I believe certainly that Hacettepe University Quality Office will play key role in adoption of quality projects and in perception of top management support as a condition of quality projects among university units and members and this will increase participation to quality projects within the university.
